Jovian is a high-flyer. Under Andreas Helgstrand, the reigning European Team Champion also took twelfth place in the individual European Championship Special and was only ineligible to compete in the final freestyle final due to the country quota. He also took second place in the Aachen Nations’ Cup and ninth place in the Aachen freestyle. Jovian thus impressively continued his career, which has already included numerous highlights, on the highest championship level. As an eight-year-old, he achieved his debut victories in the international Grand Prix arena. He also took fourth place in the World Cup Freestyle in Vilhelmsborg/DEN – with over 80 percent! Jovian started his career in 2017 as the winner of the Dutch Championships for three-year-old riding horses. In 2018, he won his sport test in Verden with a score of 9.01.

Jovian was also singled out as a premium stallion at the Danish licensing and secured silver at the Dutch Pavo Cup. In 2019, he won gold at the World Breeding Dressage Championships for five-year-olds, with four of the five traits scoring a 10. This was followed by silver at the Danish Championships. In 2021, he was crowned World Champion for seven-year-old dressage horses (with 95.200 percent). And it is probably only due to the cancellation of the 2020 championships due to the coronavirus pandemic that Jovian was unable to defend his title in the six-year-old classification and thus complete the coveted World Championship title triple.

More than ten stallions from the first crops were licensed, including the premium stallions Joshua, Baunehøjens Jackson and Just Diamond, the latter of whom won silver at the Oldenburg State Championships. Jovian’s sporting offspring include the silver winner of the World Championships for four-year-olds, Josi under Chiara Prijs Vitale/ITA, and the Berlin-Brandenburg State Champion and South German bronze winner Just the Best with Franziska Ehrich.

Daughter Jolene went to the final ring of the best of the year at the Hanoverian Herwart von der Decken show. Jovian’s foals were already the talk of the town: Slangerupgaard’s Josefine topped the Danish Elite Foal Auction with a price of 72,000 euros. Jubilee went to the filly final ring at the Danish Foal Championships. Jovian produced two finalists at the German Foal Championships in Lienen.

Sire Apache was KWPN reserve champion in ‘s-Hertogenbosch/NED and superior winner of the stallion competition in winter 2011/12. Under his trainer Emmelie Scholtens, Apache was selected for the Dutch Olympic squad in 2015. In 2018, he was part of the fifth-placed Dutch team at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA. The following year, he finished eighth in the World Cup Final in Gothenburg/SWE. However, 2019 was also the year in which this undoubtedly highly sought-after stallion unexpectedly died. Champion maker Kastel’s Grand Galaxy Win stands out from the crowd of his more than 45 licensed sons. His sporty offspring are led by the Olympic individual and team bronze medal winner Gio under Charlotte Dujardin/GBR.

Jovian’s dam Zinith placed in tests for young riding horses before she was used for breeding. As a full sister to Jovian, she produced the mare Idol, who in turn became the dam of the licensed Toto Gold/Nice Boy (by Toto Jr.). Zinith also sired Friend (by Rousseau), who was successful up to Inter I level, and received a special award from the KWPN as an elite dressage mare. Zinith is a half-sister to the ster mare Upshot (by Olivi), from which the licensed stallion Astrix (by Obelisk) descends, who won the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in 2010 and 2011 under Emmelie Scholtens/NED and achieved further successes in advanced dressage competitions.

The grandfather Tango, descended from Jazz, is a full brother to Diederik van Silfhout’s/NED Grand Prix horse Bonzanjo and was himself successful in the big arena under Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED. Two of his sons, Zardando and Zizi Top, were licensed.

Jovian’s pedigree is saturated with performance genetics via the first-class bred Landjonker (alias Frühling), the Nimmerdor son Aram and the top sire Lucky Boy xx.

Exceptional offspring!
